February is their month of love and celebration. February is when they both have their birthdays, when they met more than 10 years ago, and when they got engaged more than five years ago. It seemed fitting that this is when they also got married. Originally they were planning a fall wedding, but when Sheana's great grandmother became terminally ill, they moved up the date of the wedding so that she could celebrate with them and share in their joy.
Sheana is one of the most caring people that I've had the pleasure of meeting. She has put her life on hold to take care of her family and said she felt guilty about having attention on her for their wedding day. Joby is so supportive of Sheana and her great grandmother, traveling across the state for work during the week and back to Englewood on the weekends so they can all be together.
Planning a wedding in just two weeks is no simple task but they chose Lemon Bay Rotary Park in Englewood because of the beautiful view of the Intercoastal Waterway. They decided to get married just before sunset and their friend officiated. Sheana's dad beamed as he walked her down the aisle and their dog acted as ring bearer (delivering the rings right on cue)!
Friends came together on short notice to support and celebrate with them on this special day. They now have beautiful photos and memories of that day where all the focus was on them, just as it should have been.
