Mallory and Joe are planning their fall wedding at Heron Creek Golf and Country Club in Venice and wanted engagement photos for their announcements and to frame around the house.  Mallory is a Florida native and likes being outside.  Joe is an arborist and LOVES trees and parks.  We decided that Myakka River State Park would be a great place for their morning session.

We met in the visitor center parking lot before heading to the trail that goes by the Canopy Walkway.  Unfortunately, Hurricane Ian took its toll on the park and there were a lot of downed trees.  The swinging bridge was closed while waiting for repairs, but we still found great spots along the trail and the lake to capture some beautiful photos.

We then headed to another pull off beside a lake and Joe loved the roots on this overturned tree.  Mallory was a trooper as she posed in front of this massive jumble of roots while standing in dirt!

Next it was back to the log cabin so that we could capture some fun images around the old home.

The sun was getting high in the sky and we decided that we'd drive down to the big lake and main concession area to wrap up. On the way we found one final pulloff with some downed trees and took some final images there.

Now that their pictures are done, they are ready to send out announcements for the big day.  I can't wait to photograph their wedding in the fall.
